Cell Phone Use Policy

(Adapted from GPISD Student Handbook page 56)

 

Guidelines: 

• Students are allowed to bring a personal cell phone to school for before and after school communication with parents or guardians. 

• The student is fully responsible, at all times, for the cell phone brought to school. 

• Galena Park ISD/Sam Houston Elementary is not liable for any loss, damage, or theft of a cell phone. 

• All cell phones should be turned off and should not be visible. 

• Students may not use their cell phone for non-educational purposes during school hours. 

• No device, personal or otherwise, may be used to record, store, or transmit any type of image, sound, or video from Galena Park ISD/Sam Houston Elementary  

• If reasonable belief exists that the student has violated the terms of this agreement, or other school policy, the student’s cell phone may be inspected and/or confiscated. 

• Subsequent or additional disciplinary action involving misuse of cell phone may extend to loss of cell phone privileges or further action as determined by Sam Houston Elementary
